Attendance & Leave

Parents should ensure that their children or wards observe punctuality in daily attendance and all school engagements. Punctuality is an important part of education. Students who come late for the Morning Assembly are not only punished but are also fined Rs. 10/- per day. Habitual late-comers are sent back home. The Principal/Controller of Studies will inform the parents if a child is late or absent without information for three or more days in a week. A student who is absent from School without leave for six consecutive days including holidays is liable to be struck off the roll of the school. Late comers are marked 'AL' in the daily attendance register. After three such entries, a written warning is issued. After the third warning a student coming late may be expelled from the School.

Parents should clearly understand that any absence from school has a very negative effect on a student's work. They are earnestly requested not to apply for leave, if they can avoid it. Leave of absence must be obtained BEFORE a student absents himself except in case of sudden illness. All applications for leave addressed to the Principal must be signed by the parent or guardian.

A Medical Certificate should accompany a leave application for illness:
(a) Lasting for 5 days or more
(b) Immediately before or after summer, spring and winter vacations
(c) On test or examination days
